It all starts with an idea
1990

The success story of KONRAD Forsttechnik began in 1990 with an ingenious idea from founder Josef Konrad. This led to the development of the first WOODY harvester head.

Development of the WOODLINER prototype
1991

Another ingenious invention is developed – the WOODLINER. To this day, the WOODLINER is one of the few self-propelled transporters that has really established itself on the market.

First extension
1992

In order to create space for further innovative ideas, the next big step was imminent—an extension was needed.

Development of the KMS tilting mast system
1998

The first KONRAD mast system was developed and built in 1998. The first KMS did not have a pull rope and was actually designed purely as a tension mast to enable the WOODLINER carriage to be operated on it.

The birth of MOUNTY
1999
The first KONRAD combination machine was to be developed this year. Initially, the plan was to equip an excavator with a tilting mast system.

However, this proved to be relatively impractical due to a lack of power and restrictions in mobility.

For this reason, it was ultimately decided to build this concept on a truck carrier vehicle.

Development of the WOODY 60 H harvester head
2002
In 2002, an invention followed that has made a major contribution to our success to this day: the first WOODY 60 H was developed and built.

This harvester head is particularly unique due to its patented working position and grapple function.
First HIGHLANDER test run
2004
Another innovative idea was
brought to life in 2004.

The first HIGHLANDER was able to demonstrate its qualities directly at the Austrofoma trade fair in Aigen-Schlägl.

The first machine was already equipped with a crane tilt and a rotating upper carriage. The telescopic feet ensured excellent off-road capabilities.
Development of LIFTLINER
2005
Our popular LIFTLINER mobile carrier was built in 2005. Back then, it was equipped with an IVECO engine and took the forestry industry by storm in no time.

The radio-controlled LIFTINER forwarder allows the lifting/lowering and driving functions to be operated simultaneously.

To this day, it impresses above all with its particularly gentle and efficient operation in thinning operations and the precise positioning of the logs at the unloading point.
20 years of KONRAD Forsttechnik
2010
The year 2010 saw a special highlight on the agenda – the company's 20th anniversary!

A lot had changed since the company was founded in 1990. WOODY, MOUNTY, and HIGHLANDER were becoming increasingly popular.

At that time, the KONRAD team consisted of more than 80 employees. This enabled the company to produce several hundred machines per year.

The only ones who can really certify us are our customers
Josef Konrad

Although we live according to the above-mentioned philosophy and customer satisfaction is the greatest recognition for us, we are of course also happy about awards. It's always a pleasure when independent juries and industry experts judge our products and our performance as one of the best.

Quality from one source

Where it says KONRAD on the outside, there is also KONRAD on the inside – this is also evident in our quality cycle. From customer requirements to after-sales service and support, Konrad Forsttechnik is your one-stop shop for everything you need.

Idea/customer request

For us, quality begins with the consultation!

Both our employees and our worldwide partners are continuously trained and have many years of experience in the forestry industry to always find the best solutions for you. However, it is not only the new ideas that are important to us, we also always welcome feedback on how satisfied you are with our machines and what we can improve.

Productdevelopment

In order to build optimal solutions for our customers, we offer bundled knowledge in a wide variety of areas!

Our strength lies in the fact that we have a great deal of internal know-how in the main areas of

  • mechanical engineering
  • hydraulics & control technology
  • electronics (hardware/software)

This bundled knowledge makes it possible for us to build optimal solutions for our customers. However, the focus is not only on the development of new products, but we are also constantly striving to improve our products based on feedback.

Production

We rely on modern and well-equipped production facilities!

Another point that makes Konrad stand out is the modern and well-equipped production. Thanks to the various departments such as

  • purchasing
  • electronics
  • steel construction
  • mechanical processing
  • various assembly departments
  • etc.

we can produce almost everything in-house. Here we do not only attach importance to high quality, but also to the fact that our employees are offered a good workplace.

Final control

Before delivery to the customer, the engine is carefully inspected by us!

Each product is carefully checked and tested after production. Afterwards all necessary documents are prepared and made available.

Delivery

We place particular emphasis on providing comprehensive training when handing over the equipment!

Since forest harvesters are not simple products, we attach great importance to ensuring that everyone is sufficiently trained and that there are no mor uncertainties. The exact procedure for this training (on site/at the factory/both) can always be agreed individually with your sales consultant.

After Sale

For us, a real customer relationship begins with the delivery of a machine!
Expecially after the purchase we are very interested in your satisfaction with our products and are always happy to receive feedback. We attach great importance to keep you informed about technical news and our service is there for you when a technical problem arises. In addition, our extensive spare parts warehouse always tries to have the apporpriate parts ready for you with long waiting times.

Sustainability

For us, sustainability begins with the development of a machine, by designing energy-efficient machines and producing them with resource-saving use!
Our actions are based on the responsibility to bring ecological, economic and social aspects into a balanced euilibrium. Most of the electricity is generated by your own photovoltaic system and we also generate the heat from our own wood chip heating system, where partly unusable packaging materials can be reused. Waste seperation and waste avoidance are therefore a matter of course for us. In addition, we are happy to support our customers in the sale of used machines or try to recycle them in the best possible way.

Outstanding service for outstanding products.
